  • Public safety means that every person has enough to eat, every person is housed, every child is cared for, every neighborhood has clean air and water, people resolve their conflicts nonviolently, and communities take shared responsibility for the safety and wellness of all. Progress can be measured through decreasing rates of hunger, increasing availability of healthy local food, increasing availability of affordable housing, lowering ACE (Adverse Childhood Experience) scores over generations, decreasing pollution levels, increasing graduation rates, and increasing life expectancy.
